Ailing senior journalist of Dainik Suprabhat Bangladesh Hossain Towfiq Hossain was sent to Dhaka for better treatment there .
He was sent through an ambulance on Thursday evening where journo leaders, office colleques and a number of relatives were present.
He was under treatment at a city’s Medical centre clinic but due to degredation of his health , he was sent to Dhaka Appollo Hospital for better treatment. Leaders of Chattogram Union of Journalists and Press club prayed for his early recovery from illness.
Prisoner dies at CMCH: A prisoner of Chittagong Jail died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital after he fell on the bathroom floor of the jail on Tuesday.
The deceased is Farid Ahmed, 30. “Farid was a drug addict and was sentenced to 14 months in jail in a narcotics case,” said Deputy Jailor Manjurul Islam, adding, “He was suffering from mental illness.”
“In the morning, he fell on the bathroom floor and his head accidentally hit a bucket. He was declared dead at CMCH,” he said. The body was sent for an autopsy.
