Bangladesh Bank (BB) Executive Director Ahmed Jamal has been appointed as a deputy governor of the central bank.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Thursday, according to a press release.
As per the notification, Ahmed Jamal will be serving as a deputy governor until he turns 62. Accordingly, his tenure will end on 30 June, 2023.
Ahmed Jamal joined as an assistant director of the central bank in 1984. He worked in different departments, including Human Resource Department, Foreign Exchange Policy Department, Foreign Exchange Inspection Department, Foreign Exchange Inspection and Vigilance Department and Financial Stability Department with proficiency and reputation, the release said.
