A land owner and a Veku driver have been fined Tk 120,000 for digging a pond with a veku without permission at Kuisha Chowk in ShibalayaUpazila of Manikganj.
On Wednesday morning, April 21, Shibalaya Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate SM Abu Darda conducted a raid in the area. They were sentenced to two months imprisonment for non-payment of a total fine of Tk 120,000.
