A day -long Agricultural Machinery Fair and a agricultural mechanization seminar was held at Upazila Parishad premises of Phulpur in Mymensingh on Tuesday. It was organized by the Feed the Future Programmme and the USAID, USA funded project “Appropriate Scale Mechanization Innovation Hub (ASMIH)-Bangladesh Phase II. Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) and Upazila Administration, Phulpur, Mymensingh.The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Sustainable Intensification (SIIL) based in the Kansas State University, USA; Appropriate Scale Mechanization Consortium (ASMC) based in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. Md Nazrul Islam Khan, Curator at Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum was chief guest in the event while Mr. Tariq Mahmudul Islam, Project Director, Project of Agricultural Mechanization through Integrated Management, Mr. Umme Habiba, Additional Deputy Director, Department of Agricultural Extension, Mymensingh District and Mr. Ataul Karim Russell, Upazila Chairman, Phulpur Upazila were present as special guests at the seminar. The seminar chaired by Md. Manjurul Alam ASMIH-Bangladesh project director and Professor of the Department of Farm Power and Machinery and Professor Dr. Rostom Ali of research coordinator gave a welcome speech. Bangladesh Agricultural University Prof and ASMI-Bangladesh Project Associate Project Director. Choyan Kumar Saha Conducted by the seminar. Successful Entrepreneurs Mr. Md. Niloy, Khodeja Khatun and Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam also spoke on the occasion. according to a press release.
A total of 08 stalls of ACI Motors Ltd., The Metal (Pvt.) Ltd., Abedin Equipment Ltd., SQ Group, Bangla Mart Ltd., Agromec Development Initiative and Asmi-Bangladesh project participated in the fair.
