The 10th annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Kalyan Samabaya Samity (LKSS) was held at LGED headquarters in Dhaka on Saturday.
Md Wahidur Rahman, Chief Engineer of LGED and President of LKSS presided over the AGM, says a press release.
The meeting presented the minutes of the 9th AGM, annual report on LKSS activities, audit accounts and audit report for FY 2012-13, revised budget for FY 2013-14 and approved proposed budget for FY 2014-15.
Besides, dividends on shares of members of LKSS was also declared and approved in the meeting.
Md Zahangir Alam, Vice-President, Mir Ilyas Morshed, Managing Director and Md. Shafiqul Islam Akand, Director (Finance) of LKSS and Md Abul Kalam Azad, Convenor of the 10th AGM Preparation Committee, Additional Chief Engineer of LGED and a large number of representative members from all over Bangladesh were attended in it.
Md Wahidur Rahman, President of LKSS in his speech said, LKSS has been developed as an effective socio-economic and profiteering organization to meet the welfare of the employees and officers of LGED by dint of sincere efforts and untiring labour of each of its members.
While presenting the Annual Report 2014 on LKSS activities, Managing Director of LKSS Mir Ilyas Morshed said, since its inception the Samity has registered 9149 members and approved all the 64 district committees.
The report further revealed that a total Tk 3.51 lakh has been given to the members and their children as medicare, emergency support and stipends in the current financial year.
At the outset of the AGM, Md Abul Kalam Azad, Convenor, 10th AGM Preparation Committee and Additional Chief Engineer, LGED delivered his welcome address.
