Agitations hit Bogra vegetables growers hard

A non-stop countrywide transport blockade and several rounds of shutdowns since Jan 5 have badly hit vegetables growers in Bogra. They are being compelled to sell their produce at prices lower than their production cost. That is because vegetables supply to capital Dhaka and other parts of the country dropped due to the blockade and shutdown-related violence and subversion. Traders said over 100 trucks used to carry vegetables daily from Mahastan Haat, Mile Haat and Mokamtola of Bogra to Dhaka and other parts of the country before the blockade, but their number has dropped to 50-60.
