The local people blocked the Dhaka-Chittagong highway for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday demanding unhurt rescue of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) panel mayor Nazrul Islam and other his four associates.
Blocking the road from 9.00am, the locals began demonstration protesting against abduction of NCC panel mayor and his four associates. They also vandalized four vehicles.
The road blockade created a heavy traffic on the busy highways.
NCC panel mayor Nazrul Islam along with his four associates was abducted by miscreants from Fatulla area of the city on Sunday. The other victims are Nazrul’s aides Tajul, Swapan, Liton and his private car driver.
Lawyers also demonstrated on the Narayanganj Court premises demanding rescue of Advocate Chandon Kumar Sarkar on Wednesday morning. Advocate Chandon Kumar Sarkar along with his driver Ibrahim was abducted on Sunday just after the abduction of NCC panel mayor.
