The Inter-district Age Group Women’s Swimming competition concluded on Saturday at Dhanmondi Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex, said a Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association’s press (BWSA) release.
Sports Directorate Director Dr Aminul Islam (Joint Secretary) was the chief guest on the closing ceremony and distributed prizes among the winners.
BWSA senior vice president Anjuman Ara Aksir and BWSA general secretary Hamida Begam were, among others, present on the occasion.
A total of 198 players from 32 districts from across the country, split into three age groups, took part in the two-day competition. The three groups are Group A 8-10 years, group B 11-12 years and Group C 13-14 years of age.
The events of the two-day meet included – 50m breast stroke, 50mback stroke, 50m free style, 50m butterfly 100m breast stroke, 100m back stroke, 100m free style, 100m butterfly and 200m individual midlay.
The participating district are – Bandarbon, Munshiganj, Jhenedah, Narayanganj, Meherpur, Bagerhat, Chuadanga, Panchagarh, Rajbari, Narail, Dinajpur, Chapainawabganj, Satkhira, Kushtia, Thakurgaon, Jessore, Madaripur, Sirajganj, Shariatpur, Lazmipur, Joypurhat, Kurigram, Borguna , Noagaon, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Dhaka, Kishorganj, Rangpur and Faridpur.
