Besides working with local models, popular TVC-maker Bapi Saha also worked with Kolkata’s noted actress Indrani Halder. Under his direction several works became popular to all. Popular comedian Afzal Sharif recently worked under his direction. Around 12 years ago, he worked under Bapi’s direction for last time.
While talking in this regard Afzal Sharif told this correspondent, “Bapi Saha is one of my favourite persons. I like him most. Twelve years ago, I last worked under his direction in a TV commercial. Three days ago, I again worked under his direction in two TVCs – Suresh Mustard Oil and product of Smart Textiles. I hope viewers will watch these in Eid.”
While talking about Afzal Sharif Bapi Saha said, “Ahmed Ilias cooperated me well while making this TVCs. Afzal Sharif is a talented actor. After long time, he worked under my direction. It was really an exceptional emotional feeling for us.”
It is noted that after theatre and TV plays Afzal Sharif started acting in big screen.
In 1984, he started his acting career. He first acted through Troup Theatre of Arambag. He acted in several theatre plays. He started acting in small screen by Humayun Ahmed’s popular serial Bohubrihi in 1988. In 1992, he started acting in big screen through Goutam Ghosh’s Padma Nodir Majhi. For his comedy acting he got the National Film Award in 2010.
