Noted actress of TV dramas and movies and also director Afsana Mimi joined as Director of Drama and Film Department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) last month. After joining the post, she has been passing busy times with her new responsibilities. She has already completed one month of her joining. While sharing her feelings after joining the post at BSA Afsana Mimi said, “At first, I give thanks to the Prime Minister for selecting me for the post. Then
I give cordial thanks and gratefulness to the President Abdul Hamid. I give also thanks to the Ministry
of Cultural Affairs because the Ministry played a vital role for the selection. From the beginning of my joining, I really missed the direct leadership of Director General of BSA Liaquat Ali Lucky Bhai because he was at home during that time due to contracted with the Coronavirus. However, from home he was also active virtually. I give also thanks to Director General of Bangladesh Television SM Haroon-or-Rashid Bhai, producer of my new drama serial, Shayankal Ruma Akter, Art Director and General Manager of BTV because without their co-operation I couldn’t coordinate between these two works. For last one month I worked with the employees of BSA nicely. I am really impressed with their full support.”
Afsana Mimi has been appointed for the post for next three years. Before joining the post, she made 13-episode serial Shayankal for
BTV, she also said.
