Noted actor, director and Director of Drama and Film Department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Afsana Mimi is undergoing treatment at a hospital after testing positive for Covid-19 last week. She is currently being kept under observation. According to reports, she was diagnosed with the virus last week and rushed to the hospital on April 1. After her cough had grown worse, Mimi, who was isolating herself at home for one week, was hospitalized for better medical care.
Afsana Mimi was appointed as the new Director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy last year. The three years contract with the government was signed on November 11, 2020. Mimi blazed the small screen in the ‘90s as one of the most popular actors of her generation.
Mimi also starred in critically acclaimed films, including Tanvir Mokammel’s Chitra Nodir Pare and Nodir Naam Modhumoti. Her production house, Green Screen, produced popular drama serials like Doll’s House, Kachher Manush, Poush Falguner Pala and many more.
