Afghanistan’s upcoming Under-19 tour of Bangladesh is all set to be rescheduled as the tourist are waiting for Pakistan visa to fly to Dhaka.
”There is no flight from Kabul. We are waiting for Pakistan visa (so that we can go there in bus and later come to Bangladesh by air),” Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) media manager Hikmat Hassan told on Sunday.
The tourists are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on August 31 to play five youth one-day internationals and a lone four-day match in Sylhet till September 20.
Earlier, ACB and Pakistan Cricket Board mutually agreed to reschedule the ODI , expected to be held in Hambantota from September 1-9 due to disruption of flight operations in Kabul.
BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) game development manager AEM Kawser told that they are ready to accommodate their Afghanistan counterpart even if they can come within a week from their scheduled time.
”Look we can always accommodate them (Afghanistan Under-19) even if they come within a week from their deadline as we don’t have any Under-19 program during the month of September,” said Kawser.
BCB is desperate to arrange international matches for the defending champions as all their program were disrupted due to corona.
BCB had started a residential camp in Sylhet from August 19 as part of preparation for the Under-19 series against Afghanistan.
