Afghanistan taste 4-wkt consolation win against Canada

Afghanistan sealed a four-wicket consolation victory against all-losers Canada in their 3rd and last Group-D match of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Both, Afghanistan and Canada made their early exit from main race of the world youth one day international tournament.
Afghanistan lost to Pakistan by six-wicket in the first match and by 33 runs in the 2nd match against Sri Lanka.
Canada started their tournament campaign with 196-run loss to Sri Lanka while lost to Pakistan by 7-wicket in the 2nd match.
Sri Lanka and Pakistan confirmed the super league berth from Group-B with one match to spare securing identical all-win four points each playing two matches apiece.
In the day’s match, replying to an easy score of 147, Afghanistan reaches their destination scoring 149 for 6 in 24.1 overs.
Tariq Stanikzai who was adjudged man of the match topscored 56 off 48 balls including nine boundaries and one six.
Skipper Ihsanullah(31 off 27b; 4×4, 2×6), opener Karim Janat (29 off 24b; 5×4, 1×6) and Perwez Malakzai (11 off 11b; 1×6) were other double figure scorer for the side.
Miraj Patel bagged three wickets for 17 runs in 3.1 overs while Shlok Patel took two wickets for 31 runs in 8 overs.
Batting first after winning the toss, Canada scored 147/10 in 50 overs including the 5th wicket stand of 62 runs in 19 overs between Arslan Khan and skipper Abraash Khan.
Arslan Khan topscored 38 off 52 balls including four boundaries and one six while skipper Abraash Khan added 33 off 89 balls involving three boundaries.
Kurt Ramdath (20 off 34b; 2×4), Bhavindu Adhihetty (13 off 19b; 1×4) and Harsh Thaker (13 off 48b; 1×4) were the other double figure scorers or Canada.
Shamsurrahman and Muslim Musa captured three wickets for 21 and 31 runs in eight and 10 overs. Rashid Khan took two wickets for 20 runs in 20 overs.
