Defending champions Afghanistan will play the SAFF Suzuki Cup final against six-time champions India at the Trivandrum International Stadium in Kerala, India today (Sunday). The seven-nation South Asian soccer meet final will start at 7:00pm (Bangladesh time).Afghanistan confirmed their final berth, for the third time in a row, eliminating Sri Lanka by 5-0 goals in the semifinal while India sidelined Maldives with a 3-2 goals victory to ensure their meet final, both held at the same venue on Thursday.Earlier, Afghanistan advanced to semifinal as four-team Group-B topper bagging nine points from three matches with all-win record. On the other hand, India emerged three-team Group-A champion securing six points from two matches also with all-win record to confirm the semifinal berth.Afghanistan clinched the last edition title, maiden for the Afghan, of the meet dehorning six-time champions India by 2-0 goals. However, Bangladesh made the early exit from the tournament losing to the Maldives by 1-3 goals and conceding a humiliating 0-4 goals defeat against defending champions Afghanistan in the group stage. Bangladesh wrapped up their journey with a 3-0 victory over all-loser Bhutan.
