Afghanistan beat Nepal by 3 wickets in U-19 Asia Cup

Afghanistan recorded their second consecutive victory in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup when they beat Nepal by three wickets in their second group A match held on Monday at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan ground no 4 in Savar.
Chasing a paltry winning target of 132 runs set by Nepal, Afghanistan reached home making 136 for the loss of seven wickets in 37.3 overs.
Skipper Rahmatullah Gurbaz top scored with 26 runs followed by Azmatullah Omarzia (23) and Arif Khan (23 n.o) for Afghanistan side. Surya Tamang was the most successful bowler as he claimed four Afghan wickets conceding 40 runs.
Earlier, opted to bat at first after winning the toss, Nepal suffered early batting jolt and eventually dismissed at a paltry total of 131 in 38.3 overs.
Middle order batsman Rohit Kumar top scored with a gritty 49 runs while cameo Rashid Khan’s breezy 25-ball off 29 runs helped Nepal to cross the hundred runs landmark after the early batting collapse.
Azmatullah Omarzai was the pick of Afghan bowler as he grabbed four wickets conceding 14 runs. He was well supported by Abdul Rahman and Qais Ahmad who both bagged two wickets each for 19 and 37 runs respectively.
Earlier, Afghanistan beat United Arab Emirates by five wickets while Nepal suffered a 171-run defeat to India in both their respective group opening matches.
