The victim Sajedul Islam Saju arranged the press conference at a business establishment in Shapla Chattar area of the city on Tuesday noon. “I have been working for an autonomous company in Rangpur for a long time and have been running a business (Mersas Maleka Battery House) for buying and selling new and old batteries in the local Shapla Chattar area of Rangpur city,” he said in writing. Since April 1, 2016, I hired Jewel Mia, son of late Jahedul Islam of East Deodoba Hajipara area of the city, as the manager of the business establishment. Since the appointment, Jewel Mia has been the manager of the company till March 22, 2022. While acting as a manager in the interest of business, I used to sign the blank check book of Islamic Bank Dhap Branch Account No. 20503330100070612 with Jewel Mia. Manager Jewel Mia cheated on me with this opportunity of simplicity. He has embezzled about 40 lakh 50 thousand rupees from my business in a few rounds.
In this I have become utterly calm. I am the son-in-law of a freedom fighter from Rangpur. I have been conducting business in Rangpur for a long time with a good reputation.
In order to do business, I introduced the manager Jewel to the bank as a trustworthy person. On this occasion Jewel made a transaction of around crores of rupees from that bank for business. Taking advantage of this simplicity of mine, the fraudulent Jewel Tactically, on 14/12/2021, 9 lakh rupees, on 18/3/2022, 9 lakh 50 thousand rupees, on 20/3/2022, 5 lakh 50 thousand rupees, on 21/3/2022, Tk 5 lakhs and on 22/3/2022 embezzled Tk 11.50 lakh a total of Tk 4.50 lakh in 4 checks. If I ask him for an account of the money, he has been delaying in various ways.
