Bangladesh Football team will take on Bahrain Football team in their opening Group-E match of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia today. The match will kick-off at 3.15pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite channel T Sports will telecast the match live. Bangladesh, Bahrain, Malaysia, Turkmenistan are in Group-E of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.
Bangladesh have taken 188th position, according to the latest FIFA ranking, while Bahrain have achieved 89th spot, according to the latest FIFA ranking.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh faced Bahrain in a match of Presidents Cup, which was held in 8th September, 1979. Bangladesh lost to Bahrain by two goals to nil in that game.
Bangladesh played a FIFA friendly match against Indonesia in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia recently. Indonesia have taken 159th position, according to the latest FIFA ranking. Bangladesh played a goalless draw with Indonesia in that FIFA friendly match.
The result of the match may give inspiration to the red-and-green outfit.
Captain of Bangladesh Football team Jamal Bhuyan said, ” The other opponents team may think that we are an easy target to win over us. We are not easy opponents. There are merit and talent hidden inside our booters. We want to present surprise. There are some big matches wait for us.”
Jamal said, ” Before this match, we have watched the video footage of Bahrain team. After watching the video of Bahrain’s team, we have taken some plans to resist the attack of Bahrain team. We are totally prepared for the tomorrow’s match after taking the direction of our Head Coach Javier Cabrera. We have some problems and I think there are some problems in every team. We talked to our Head Coach about our problems. I am confident that if we can play according to our plans, we can bring a good result.”
