Nine students of the Department of Mathematics of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation Gold Medal for their outstanding academic results in BS Honours and MS examinations.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed the Gold Medals and certificates among the awardees at a function at AF Mujibur Rahman Ganit Bhaban of the university on Saturday.
Chairman of the Department of Mathematics of DU Prof Dr Amulya Chandra Mandal presided over the function while Trustee of AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation and Professor of London School of Economics, UK, Dr Naila Kabeer addressed it as special guest, reports UNB.
The awardees are: Farzana Islam (MS), Sanjida Islam (MS), Farhana Ahmed Simi (BS), Md. Alomgir Hossain Badsha (MS), Chinmayee Podder (MS), Kamrun Naher (MS), Kamrunaher (MS), Md. Lokman Hossen (MS) and Shahenur Begum (MS).
Later, Prof Arefin Siddique inaugurated the newly constructed ‘AF Mujibur Rahman Ganit Bhaban’ at the university.
