Advocate Tasmiah made Country Director of ‘Global Peace Chain’

The United States-based advocacy group ‘Global Peace Chain’ has appointed young Bangladeshi lawyer Advocate Tasmiah Nuhiya Ahmed as its Country Director for Bangladesh.
The Global Peace Chain (GPC) is an organisation committed to building resilience by cultivating a culture of tolerance, inclusivity, interfaith harmony, coexistence, love and social peacebuilding across the border.
In a statement, GPC said they have recently made Tasmiah, an advocate of Bangladesh Supreme Court, as their country director for Bangladesh.
Tasmiah has completed Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of London, United Kingdom in 2011 and enrolled in the District Judge Court of Dhaka in 2013. She has published research articles in journals both at home and abroad and writes regularly for a number of national dailies.
As the Country Director of the GPC, Tasmiah has taken the pledge to organise community-based and national-level activities in Bangladesh that would reflect Global Peace Chain’s commitment to the UN-sponsored Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Global Peace Chain is a worldwide Peacebuilding organisation established in 2018 with its headquarters in the United States and Regional Offices in Nepal, Burundi, Pakistan and Mauritius for reinforcing youth leadership and development.
