Advancing large caps maintain share markets up

 Considerable gain in large cap securities maintained share markets further up on Wednesday when all market indicators finished higher, with rising transactions.
The broader price DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended the consecutive three sessions up at 5567.69. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also advanced at close to 2063.07 and 1280.54 respectively.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 700.41 crore from Tuesday’s Taka 644.74 crore and the daily trade rose to 21.09 crore shares from 19.57 crore shares of the previous session.
The rising major sectors were fuel and power, cement, pharmaceuticals and chemicals, financial institutions and insurance. A total of 142 securities of the large-cap group incurred gain due to higher activities.
At DSE, out of the day’s 330 securities, prices of 189 securities closed higher against 95 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were CVOPRL, ARIAMITCEM, Salvo Chemical, ICB and Asia Pacific Insurance. The major losing issues were NTC, Phenix Insurance, Savar EFR, Eastern Insurance and Paramount.
Regent Textile topped the turnover list followed by Lanka Bangla Finance, IFAD Autos, City Bank and PTL.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 158.54 points up at 17,247.74.
CSE, issues traded 247 while 155 closed higher against 70 closed lower when 1.37 crore shares worth Taka 38.45 crore changed hands.
