Bangladesh Railway (BR) will begin advance ticket sale for the homebound passengers June 12 on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
“The pre-Eid advance ticket sale will begin from Chittagong and Dhaka stations under special arrangement at 8am and the railway officials will supervise the ticket selling activities,” Railway eastern zone sources said.
Sources said tickets for travelling on June 21 would be sold on June 12 from the two stations.
Besides, June 22’s tickets will be sold on June 13, June 23’s on June 14, June 24’s on June 15 and June 25’s on June 16.
Simultaneously, the railway also will begin advance return ticket sale on June 19 at 8am under special arrangement Tickets of June 28 will be sold on June 19, June 29’s tickets on June 20, June 30’s on June 21, July 1’s on June 22 and July 2 tickets will be sold on June 23.
On Eid day, two special trains will run from Bhoirab Bazar to Kishoreganj and from Mymensingh to Kishoreganj for carrying passengers to Sholakia Eidgah which witness the largest Eid congregation of the country.A passenger will get maximum four tickets and sold tickets will not be returned.
“Arrangements of all-time vigilance with the cooperation of the law-enforcement agencies will be taken to prevent ticket black marketing,” he said adding mobile court drive also would be carried out with the cooperation of the deputy commissioners.
