The Annual Development Programme (ADP) achieved 21 percent progress in its implementation during the July-November period in the current fiscal year (FY 15) compared to 20 percent notched in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
The expenditure during the five-month period, however, was TK 15,896.87 crore, Tk 2,740.87 crore higher than Tk 13,156 crore expenditure during the July-November period of the previous fiscal year.
Of the total expenditure for July-November of FY 15, the share of local fund was Tk 10,153.59 crore (21 pc) while the project assistance Tk 5,743.49 crore (21 pc).
The ADP implementation status for the July-November period of the current fiscal year was revealed at the ‘Meet the Press’ held at the NEC conference room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area where Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal briefed reporters.
The Planning Division Secretary and Planning Commission members were present at the briefing.
According to the ADP implementation status report compiled by the Planning Ministry, the Ministry of Science and Technology notched the highest implementation rate of 80 percent while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the lowest 0 percent.
According to the report, the top 15 Ministries and Divisions in terms of highest ADP allocation, spent an amount of Tk 13,970.06 crore or 21 percent during the five-month period.
The Local Government Division posted the highest expenditure of Tk 3,695.22 crore (28 percent) during the five-month period of current fiscal followed by Science and Technology Ministry Tk 1,845.65 crore (80 pc), Power Division Tk 1,651.08 crore (18 pc), Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Tk 1,633.98 crore (29 pc).
Analyzing the report, it was found that some 24 Ministries and Divisions witnessed a implementation progress of 20 percent and more during the July-November period of FY15 while some 13 Ministries and Divisions witnessed an implementation rate of in between 15-20 percent, three ministries and divisions in between 10-15 percent while 15 ministries and Divisions below 10 percent.
About the ADP implementation progress, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said the implementation of the development projects would be executed in a bit different manner from the next fiscal year, where the project-wise implementation would be pinpointed.
He hoped that about 300 or more projects are likely to see completion in the current fiscal year whereas the usual number of projects witnessing completion in a year is in between 200 and 250.
