ADP implementation reaches 19.13 pc during July-Nov

The ministries and divisions could utilise 19.13 percent of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) during July-November period of the current fiscal year with an overall expenditure of Tk 23,594 crore.
The ADP implementation rate was only 17 percent during July-November period of the last fiscal year when the expenditure was Tk 17,011 crore.
This was revealed according to the latest figures of the Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED).
The IMED figures showed that out of the 54 ministries and divisions, the Ministry of Science and Technology witnessed the highest implementation rate of 67.86 percent during the period with Tk 602.98 crore expenditure while the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) the lowest expenditure of zero percent.
Out of the top 10 ministries and divisions, the IMED figures revealed that Power Division made the highest expenditure of Tk 5,212.15 crore (27.98 percent) in July-November period followed by Local Government Division Tk 4,898.15 crore (27.93 percent), Bridges Division Tk 1,142.69 crore (12.32 percent), Ministry of Railways Tk 1,779.98 crore (20.21 percent), Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Tk 1,843.11 crore (24.54 percent), Ministry of Housing and Public Works Tk 684.68 crore (13.98 percent).
The implementation rate and expenditure of other Ministries and Divisions during the July-November period are Economic Relations Division (ERD) 36.11 percent (Tk 11.97 crore), Ministry of Environment of Forests Tk 73.27 crore (18.17 percent), Ministry of Commerce Tk 28.65 crore (7.70 percent), Energy and Mineral Resources Division Tk 890.43 crore (27.76 percent), Ministry of Agriculture Tk 438.01 crore (26.33 percent), Road Transport and Highways Division Tk 1096.18 crore (14.07 percent) and Ministry of Education Tk 933.83 crore (15.87 percent).
Some 1365 projects are included in the ADP of the current fiscal year including 126 technical assistance projects, 7 projects from the Japan Debt Cancellation Fund, 9 from block allocation and 155 projects from the organization’s own fund.
Earlier in May last, the National Economic Council (NEC) approved Tk 110,700 crore for the annual development programme (ADP) for the current fiscal year (FY 2016-17), giving top priority to the transport sector.
NEC also approved Tk 12,645.80 crore of the self-financed projects and adding that the development budget size for the current fiscal reached to Tk 1,23,345.80 crore.
