The implementation rate of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) reached 94.32 percent in the last fiscal year (FY19) with an overall expenditure of Taka 1,66,593 crore.
“This ADP execution in the last year was Taka 18,287 crore higher than the ADP execution in FY18,” said Planning Minister MA Mannan on Tuesday after the day’s ECNEC meeting.
He said that the ADP implementation rate was 94.11 percent in FY18 with an expenditure of Taka 1,48,306 crore. The Planning Minister said as both the ADP implementation rate and expenditure increased last year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself has expressed satisfaction over the achievement.
Asked about the reason behind increased ADP execution in the last year, Mannan said the Planning Ministry, especially the IMED, remained very active from the beginning of the last fiscal year besides maintaining constant supervision.
Besides, the Planning Minister said after assuming his office, he held meetings with the Project Directors in various Divisions as well as with the concerned Secretaries which also helped to boost the execution.
According to the figures provided by the IMED, the ADP implementation rate in FY17 was 89.76 percent with an overall expenditure of Taka 1,07,085 crore, in FY16 was 92.72 percent with an overall expenditure of Taka 87,067 crore and it was 91.40 percent in FY15 with an expenditure of Taka 71,144 crore.
