A spot admission fair is going on at German University Bangladesh (GUB), which will continue till September 19 this month. The fair announced a waiver upto 5 per cent to 10 per cent for meritorious students on admission. The University will accord reception to students secured GPA-5, GPA-4 and other GPA on 12th September at its Gazipur Campus. GUB is the first Higher Educational Institution in Bangladesh, which is introducing combination of Research & Teaching known as Humboldtian Model of higher education (German: Humboldtisches Bildungsideal, Humboldtial education ideal). Prof Dr Sc. Dr. h.c.mult Michael Henry Boehme has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the University.
GUB curriculum has been prepared accordingly with close cooperation between German and Bangladeshi experienced Professors and adapted considering the socio-economical condition of Bangladesh to meet the present challenges. This University will have both humanities subjects like Sociology, Economics, Business Administration in Social Science Faculty and technical subjects like Environment Protection Technology, Food Science and Technology, Biotechnology, Mechatronics in the Engineering Faculty. In addition, the University will introduce the Faculty of Health offering Human Health and Animal public Health as degree offering study fields.
The University helps to develop faculties and techniques in a student to take up the challenges in the frontiers of the future with German precision. On graduation from GUB, students will be the torch bearer of German technology. The University has cooperation with Ludwig-Maximilian University Munich. It also has cooperation agreement with University of Rhein-Waal, Kleve as well as Memorandum of Understanding.
