Adhunik, the national anti-tobacco organisation, has expressed deep shock at the death of National Professor Dr MR Khan. In a condolence message, signed by Adhunik president Amanullah Khan, recalled MR Khan’s contributions to the anti-tobacco organisation, and said, “He’ll be remembered not only as the most celebrated child specialist the country ever had, but also as a civil society leader who rose
above narrow personal interest and fought relentlessly to advance social and humanitarian causes and promote a better health regime in the country.”
He said, Dr MR Khan, the founder treasurer of Adhunik, (Bengali acronym for We Prevent Smoking), was closely associated with the organisation and actively took part in its deliberations.
