M Jewel Rana, Additional District and Session’ s Judge of Dhaka, has been suspended for misconduct.
The Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry issued a notification on Thursday in this regard.
As per the notification, there is an allegation against Judge Jewel Rana that he submitted an application bringing audacious, offensive, impolite and false allegations against the Chief Justice and undermined the GA committee members. “As the allegation against the alleged official is serious and as the Supreme Court recommended suspending him from the service, he was suspended as per section 11(1) of the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1985.” The notification also said the process to file a departmental case against the judge is underway.
