Additional charge fixed on int’l air passengers

Every air passenger will have to pay an extra amount of Tk 1,700 as passenger security and airport development fees while purchasing tickets for international flights from today (Sunday).
These fees of different amount are applicable for both domestic and international flights, said Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh.

The decision confirmed a notice issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh on July 22.
Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, Director of Civil Aviation Authority said, Tk 420 will be charged as airport development fee and Tk 500 as passenger security fee to be realised with the flights fare bound for the SAARC region.
In case of other countries beyond SAARC members, Tk 850 will be charged as airport development fee and the same amount as passenger security fee, Moazzem Hossain said.
The official said that in case of domestic flights, every passenger has to pay Tk 100 as airport development fee and Tk 70 as passenger safety fee.
