ADB to help BD’s road connectivity expansion

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Bangladesh Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Authority on Thursday signed a transaction advisory services deal that will pave the way for a PPP projects to prepare and develop a major access road to boost connectivity and cut traffic congestion in central Dhaka, according to a press release.
Bangladesh PPP Authority Chief Executive Officer Syed Afsor H. Uddin, and ADB Country Director for Bangladesh Kazuhiko Higuchi signed the agreement at ADB’s Bangladesh Resident Mission in Dhaka. Ryuichi Kaga, Head, Office of the PPP, ADB; Mahbubul Alam, Additional Chief Engineer, Roads and Highways Department; Md. Waliullah Mia, Deputy Secretary, Economic Relations Division; and Rafiqul Islam Khan, Deputy Secretary, PPP Unit, Ministry of Finance, among others, attended the event.
