President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Takehiko Nakao will visit Bangladesh on February 27-28 next.
During his visit, Nakao will meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, and other senior officials, said an ADB press release.
The ADB President will also visit selected ADB-assisted projects in the power, education, urban infrastructure and rail transport sectors in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh joined ADB in 1973 and it became the first ADB member to host a field office in 1982.
Till date, more than $20 billion from ADB’s loans, grants, and technical assistance have been approved for the country. Approved non-sovereign loans, equity investments and guarantees have totaled $985.28 million.
