ADB President due on Feb 26

Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Takehiko Nakao is scheduled to visit Bangladesh February 26-28 to see for himself the operations of ADB-assisted projects in Bangladesh.
“The ADB President is likely to visit Bangladesh on February 26-28 this year,” an official at the ADB local office told.
This will be the second visit of the current ADB President to Bangladesh after his first one in 2014.
The official said during his tour, Nakao is likely to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith.
Besides, the ADB President is scheduled to make field-visits to see for himself the operations of the ADB-supported projects in Bangladesh.
Takehiko Nakao may brief the press on the outcome of his visit besides project operations and future plans.
ADB became a development partner of Bangladesh in 1973 and established its first field office in Dhaka in 1982. It is now a leading multilateral development partner of the country.
According to the Economic Relations Division (ERD) and the ADB, the Manila-based lending agency has so far provided Bangladesh with around $21 billion in loans and grants and mobilized about $8 billion in co-financing.
