Asian Development Bank expressed interest to start feasibility study in Chittagong port aimed at turning it into a Green Port. This expression was disclosed at the meeting of 4-members ADB team with senior officials of CPA at Bandar Bhaban on Monday .
In the meeting the ADB team members keenly interested to start feasibility of Ctg Port for turning as Green Port. Member(Admn & Planning) Md. Zafar Alam was present on behalf of CPA in the meeting. He said to the media that the communication between the port and container yards will be turned into rail communication instead of road journey.
He also said the grants of ADB will be incurred in this project also. Port sources said ADB is interested to sanction Tk.16,800 crore(2.1 billion US dollar) for development of Ctg port .
