College Rugby Tournament: Adamjee Cantonment face Commerce College in opener today

Adamjee Cantonment College will face Commerce College in the opening match of the First Security Islami Bank College Rugby Tournament at the Physical Education College Ground in Mohammadpur today. The match kicks-off at 11.00 am. Secretary of Youth and Sports of Bangladesh Awami League Harunur Rashid will inaugurated the rugby meet as the chief guest.
Bangladesh Rugby Union has arranged the rugby competition under auspices of First Security Islami Bank Limited.
Marking the forthcoming rugby tournament, a press conference was held at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Wednesday. General Secretary of Bangladesh Rugby Union (BRU) Mousum Ali, Joint-Secretary of BRU Sayed Ahmed, Senior Vice-President of First Security Islami Bank Limited Shahzada Basunia were present at the conference.
A total of 11 teams splitting into four groups are competing in the four-day long rugby tournament. Adamjee Cantonment College, Commerce College are in Group-A, Government Bangla College, Dhaka Imperial College, Haimchar College of Chandpur are in Group-B, BAF Shaheen College, Bir Shreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College, Maestro Crown College are in Group-C, Saint Gregory’s High School & College, Cambrian School & College, Kabi Nazrul Government College are in Group-D.
The top teams of each group will get tickets of the last four. The winners of the semi-finals will face each other in the final on August 6.
