Adamjee Cantonment College emerged as the champions of the Eastern University Inter-College Rugby Competition when they beat Government Bangla College by 8-6 points in the tie-breaker of the final at the Paltan Maidan on Sunday.
The stipulated 30-minute match ended in a 5-5 draw.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Commerce College finished third after defeating Cambrian College by 15-0 points in a place-deciding match at the same venue on the same draw.
Faisal Ahmed of Government Bangla College was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
After the hard-fought final, Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University Professor Dr Abdur Rab distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest while Member of Trusty Board of Eastern University SM Bakhtiar Alam was with him as the special guest.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Rugby Federation (BRF) Abdullah Al Zahir Shawpan, General Secretary of BRF Mousum Ali, Joint-Secretary of the Federation Sayeed Ahmed and Secretary of the Tournament Committee Mojibur Rahman were present at the time.
