Actors’ Equity Bangladesh organised Actors’ Family Day on February 8 at Priyanka Shooting Spot, adjacent to Ashulia in Savar. Magician Shahin Shah presented magic at first. During that time Ekushey Award winner noted actor Abul Hayat and noted film actor, producer and director Alamgir came on the stage. Later Alamgir, Chanchal Chowdhury, Apurba, among others, rendered songs.
After the lunch break, Actors’ Equity honoured senior and junior actors who got the National Film Awards 2017 and 2018.
Film actor Alamgir, story-writer Harun-or-Rashid, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Tauquir Ahmed, Zahid Hasan, Afzal Sharif, Shahadat Hossain, Runa Khan, Ekushey Award winner veteran actor SM Mohsin and Bangla Academy Award winner noted actor Khairul Alam Sabuj received the honours from Abul Hayat and Sharmily Ahmed. Jointly planned by Saju Khadem and Arfan Ahmed, a special cultural function and Fun Awards Actors’ Equity Awards were also given on the occasion.
Khalilur Rahman Kaderi received Jabotjibon Award. Later Ahsan Habib Nasim, Abdul Aziz, Farzana Chhoby, Neela Islam, Anubhob, Sirajul Islam, among others, also received honours. Shabnam Parvin and Tariq Swapan presented exceptional dance in the programme. Faruk Ahmed-Anny, Munira Mithu-Jamil also presented dance. At last, band group, Joler Gaan performed in the event.
