Actor Omar Sani has urged all artistes, involved in film and television industries, to come forward and help the country’s flood-affected people.
He proposed setting up a fund without any delay and announced to donate Tk 1 lakh to be spent for sacrificing animals during Eid-ul-Azha, saying he will not sacrifice animal this time .
The film actor made the announcement in a video message on Friday , saying Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu and Information Secretary can be involved in establishing the fund.
“Eid-ul-Azha is coming after few days. We don’t have enough time in our hands.
Some of our brothers and sisters are losing their belongings. So, Moushumi and I have decided not to sacrifice animals this time. We want to keep Tk 1 lakh for the flood-hit people,” Omar Sani said.
He said he has already talked to some senior artistes who responded positively and urged others to come forward keeping Nayak Raj Razzak on front for mobilising funds.
Omar Sani also requested Shakib Khan to come forward in this regard.
He sought support from the owners of private television channels to form a stronger fund. “Let’s join our hands. Who will extend the helping hands if we don’t?” the actor said urging all to keep the process above politics.
