Chattogram Bureau :
Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif has said that organizational measures will be taken against those who disobey the decision and work for the rebel candidates outside the party nominated candidates in the coming Chattogram City Corporation elections.
He was speaking to reporters at the International Convention Center in Kazir Dewri on Saturday yesterday noon.
He said the Awami League attaches more importance to the Chattogram City Corporation elections. We are 100% optimistic about winning, he added.
The party has a very strict position on the rebel candidates. Those who had previously run as rebel candidates in various elections were no longer given the boat symbol. The responsible persons who have acted against the decision of the party in favor of the rebel candidate are also being dismissed from the party post.
Asked about the BNP candidate’s dissatisfaction with the use of EVMs in the election, he said the BNP took part in the election to question the election. There has been a lot of talk about EVMs before.
Many of their top leaders have also spoken out on the issues. In the past, fair voting has been done with EVM. So there is no room for further debate on EVMs. Incidentally, the polling for the CCC election will be held on January 27 . Due to the death of the candidates of general wards 30, 36, 40 and reserved ward-7, the schedule has been announced again in these wards.
