Election Commission Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed on Tuesday said, action will be taken if a case is filed for the attack that left 12 journalists injured in Nawabganj.
The EC Secretary, however, denied knowing anything about yesterday night’s incident when journalists called him in this regard.
“Journalists were attacked? It was not published in any newspaper. Nobody gave any oral or written complaint? How will we know?” the EC Secretary questioned.
Helaluddin urged the aggrieved to file a case in this regard.
Meanwhile, Officer-in-Charge of Nawabganj Police Station Mohammad Mostofa Kamal said “We sent police force immediately after we heard of the incident.”
The law enforcers also talked to the injured journalists, but they were unable to identify or recognise any of the attackers, the OC said.
