Staff Reporter :A departmental action against three secretaries and a joint secretary, who obtained fake freedom fighter (FF) certificates, has been initiated on Monday.As part of the act, the Ministry of Public Administration on the day served show-cause notices upon the bureaucrats asking them to give written explanation within ten working days.The four bureaucrats are Health Secretary Niaz Uddin Mia, Public Service Commission Secretary AKM Amir Hossain, ex-Liberation War Affairs Secretary KH Masud Siddiqui (now an OSD), and ex-joint secretary to the Ministry Abul Kashem Talukder (now an OSD).The Ministry has issued a gazette notification in this regard this evening. The Prime Minister earlier on the day approved the action against the Secretaries by signing a file in this regard.Meanwhile, the Cabinet Division has been informed about taking necessary actions against former Secretary to the Prime Minister’s office Mollah Waheeduzzaman, now Chairman of the Privatisation Commission. The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs earlier withheld Mollah’s FF certificate. Earlier on September 22, the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs revoked FF certificates of the four bureaucrats who obtained those last year through forgery to get their service period extended. The Ministry also withheld the certificate of Molla Waheeduzzaman for not following proper procedures. The action was followed by a probe report and recommendation from the Anti-Corruption Commission.
