Popular TV actress and model Asma Pathan Rumpa is niece of noted film actor and Member of the Parliament Akbar Hossain Pathan,
popularly known as Farooque. In the beginning of Rumpa’s acting career, Farooque did not go to their residence because the actor didn’t want her niece would take part in acting. When Rumpa started to get appreciation from the viewers for performing as model
in TVCs and also for acting, then her uncle Farooque accepted these positively. He also inspired Rumpa to
continue work in media. So, Rumpa has been successfully acting, anchoring and modeling for last 15 years in showbiz. According to Rumpa, she is now busy with acting in Ruman Runi’s drama serial titled Three Star Mess, which will go on air in a TV channel soon. Meanwhile, every Friday at 6:30pm, Rumpa hosted a show titled Celebrity Cooking Show is being aired on ETV now. Rumpa said she has already
performed as model in 80 TVCs till now. Under Tushar’s direction, she first performed as model in a TVC of Mortein. She experienced to work in TVCs under direction of many noted advertisement-makers including Afzal Hossain, Tariq Anam Khan, Salauddin Lavlu, Abdun Noor Tushar, among others. She came into limelight to perform as model in TVCs
of Vim, Lipton, AP Sharbat, etc.
Under Ezaz Munna’s direction, Rumpa first acted in a drama. Till now she acted in 12 faction dramas and TV serials. While asking her about to act in movie Rumpa replied, “I always feel comfortable in acting. In front of the camera, acting is my comfortableness – it may be for TVC or drama. I never worked in movie. If I like story and role, then I will surely work in the movie. In fact, I do acting with dedication. I get satisfaction from the acting. Therefore, when I get response from the viewers I get inspiration in acting. For this reason,
acting is my comfort zone,” Rumpa also said.
