Allegations have been raised against the authorities of the fire service and civil defense that a piece of private land had been acquired without giving compensation.
The land is located beside the Embankment Road at Bhagalpur, Hazaribagh in the city.
The fire service claims that the land is the state asset. Contrary, Mohammad Hazrat Ali, the owner of the land, said that he owned the land on April 12, 1979.
He has all the documents in support of his ownership of the land. He said that, the government acquired 0475 decimals of land out of the total to construct the Embankment Road between 1989 and 1990. “I gave a portion of the land for people’s welfare and I with my family members have been living on the remaining part of the land and paying tax, holding tax, electricity bill and others”, he said.
But unfortunately, the fire service authorities demolished the structures of our land measuring one-third portion on June 23, 2011 for setting up a fire service station. They claimed that the land was under the government’s possession. The authority of the fire service has already erected a wall there.
Hazrat Ali blamed the surveyors, stating that they surveyed the land from the middle of the concrete part of the Embankment Road. Actually, the middle of the road is not right boundary.
According to Dhaka City survey, the plot numbers of the embankment are 22,23 but our plot numbers are 18,19. So, there is no possibility of it being the fire service property. The land Khatian No is 40, 41.
