Miscreants snatched an accused from police custody at Narangali Bazar under Kotwali police station on Wednesday night.
A case was lodged with the police station in this regard, said Shikder Akkas Ali, Officer- In-Charge, Kotwali Police Station.
According to the case filed by Solaiman Akkas, sub inspector, Kotwali police station, miscreants snatched Jakir Hossain alias Dipu, an accused in a case of women and children repression prevention act, after he was arrested by the police led by sub inspector Solaiman Akkas at around 7:45 pm on Wednesday. ‘Miscreants snatched the accused attacking the police at Narangali’, it added.
Talking to The New Nation, Shikder Akkas Ali told that the police arrested Hazrat Ali, president, Narangali Bazar Committee in connection with the snatching incident. But the police could not be able to round up the accused who was snatched from their custody.
Police raids were going on in search of the accused, the OC added.
