An accused facing murder charge jumped from Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court building soon after a judge rejected his bail prayer on Monday.
An eyewitness said that accused Nahid Box, 35, who has been facing murder charge, appeared in the Special Judge Court-5 of Dhaka on Monday noon. During the day’s trial proceedings, Judge Shahidul Haque Zinuk of the court rejected his bail after hearing on a petition. Soon after the order of the court, accused Nahid came out of the courtroom and jumped from the first floor of the building allegedly in a bid to avoid jail custody.
Nahid fell on Sekandar Ali who is also an accused in another case, was standing in front of the building. Sekandar also came to appear in another court.
Nahid was injured in the incident and was admitted to nearby National Medical College Hospital and later, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
