An accused in a murder case fled from the police custody in a court here on Tuesday noon.
The accused was identified as Farid Sheikh, 26, son of Md Ishak Sheikh of Guhalaxmipur of the district town.
Court inspector Najnin Begum said sub-inspector Jillur Rahman and constable Rabibul Islam produced five accused, including Farid, before the Faridpur Judge Court-2 at noon.
Farid fled from the custody when all the accused were staying at the courtroom after the hearing, he said. Police arrested Farid on September 17, 2011 in a case filed over the snatching of an easy-bike after killing its driver on August 15 of the year.
