An accused in dacoity case named Mostafa Hossain Rana(25) has escaped from the hands of the police on Sunday .
The incident occurred at Chittagong court building police cell while the accused with others are being handed over to court police.
Halisahar thana police sources said Police rounded up four dacoits alongwith sharf lethal weapons from Halishahar G Block Khalpara area while taking preparations for commiting dacoity. Case against them filed with the concerned thana as dacoity suit with the concerned police station. Sources said SI of Halishahar thana Abdur Rouf escorted the detained dacoits to court police cell and one of them escaped mysteriously while handing over them to court police.
Departmental actions against SI will be taken for negligence of duty , Officer incharge Syed Abu Mohammad said. Additional Deputy commissioner of Police(Prosecution) Rezaul Masud told that court police received three accused though the Halishahar thana officer brought 4 accused in the court, court police said.
