Discussants at a publication seminar on Monday laid emphasis on preparing accurate economic census of non-agriculture sector enterprises, trade and business statistics for proper planning of the national development.
The district administration and district office of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) jointly organised the seminar to publish the “Economic Census-2013, District Report: Rangpur” at conference room of the Deputy Commissioner in the city.
Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Minu Shill attended the seminar and unveiled cover of the district report as the chief guest with Joint Director of Divisional Statistics Office of BBS Nasir Uddin Ahmed in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner Rahat Anwar, Deputy Director (Local Government) for Rangpur Sultana Pervin and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) AKM Maruf Hassan attended attended as special guests.
Sadar Upazila Statistics Officer Shah Al Maruf moderated the seminar participated by the district and upazila level government officials, heads of different departments and organisations and local journalists.
Acting Deputy Director of Lalmonirhat District Statistics Office Emran Hossain Prodhan delivered presentation narrating overall activities of BBS and different sector-wise key findings of the economic census conducted in the district of Rangpur.
