The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) secretary Abu M Mustafa Kamal has warned that the corrupt suspects have no escape, even though they are influential persons.
The Commission secretary said this in the monthly press briefing at the Commission’s media center in the capital on Thursday.
About Bangladesh Bank’s reserve heist, the ACC secretary said the central bank and police are investigating the incident and the ACC is keeping watch on it. “The Commission is yet to decide about launching probe into the heist incident. It will initiate a probe in this regard, if necessary.”
About the Commission’s activities, Kamal said that the ACC received 849 graft allegations in March and it filed 34 cases during the period. The Commission also submitted charge sheets before courts in 45 graft cases in March.
A total of 21 graft cases were settled in courts in March. Ten accused were convicted and 11 released.
