ACC vows action against own staff

Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Dr Nasir Uddin Ahmed said that the ACC would take action against the government officials who remained absent at a meeting organized by the Commission here at the conference hall of district administration yesterday afternoon.
He came up with the warning at a views exchange meeting with District Corruption Prevention Committee (DCPC) held at Khagrachhari Circuit House on Tuesday morning.
“I will send written complaint against them to the Ministry concerned in this connection,” Nasir said.
Pointing out to the recent case of two Minister’s punishment by the High Court as an example, he said that the ACC would like to set another example aiming to prevent corruption awarding punishment to the absent government officials.
ACC Commissioner Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Director of Chittagong divisional ACC Md Azizur Rahman, Nejarot Deputy Collector (NDC) of Khagrachhari district administration Md Aminul Islam, DCPC Khagrachhari district President Sudarsan Dutta, its vice President Dulal Hossain, General Secretary Md Jasim Uddin, executive member Md Robiul Islam and Md Shahidul Islam also spoke, among others.
Later, an ACC team led by Commissioner Dr Md Nasir Uddin left Khagrachhari for another meeting scheduled in Rangamati as part of observing the Anti-Corruption Week.
