ACC has decided to file a case against Prity Haider, wife of former State Minister for Water Resources, Mahbubur Rahman for allegedly accumulating illegal wealth of Tk 1.6 crore.

told The New Nation on Sunday that the decision was finalized in a routine meeting of ACC.
The illegal scamming of property by Prity Haider was investigated by Farid Ahmed Patwary, Deputy Director of ACC. There are about 450 acres of land in her name in Patuakhali district, the market price of which is Tk 4.5 crore.
She allegedly misused of power while her husband was State Minister of Water Resources Ministry of the former Awami League-led grand alliance government. At present her husband Mahbubur Rahman is an MP of Patuakhali-4 seat.
ACC has disclosed properties worth Tk one crore 26 lakh and 71 thousand has been found in the name of Prity Haider. The couple [Prity and Rahman]have two contracting farms named ‘Andhermanik’ and ‘Gangamoti’.
ACC reveals that the property owned by Prity Haider does not correspond to her husband’s legal income. According to affidavit given in ninth parliament, she showed prize bonds amounting to Tk 5 lakh only.
The ACC earlier had decided to investigate wealth of wives of the Cabinet members of Awami League-led grand alliance government which does not correspond to the legal incomes of their husbands.
ACC has also made a list of properties of the corrupt Cabinet members, their wives and officials from government organizations such as, Rajuk, National Board of Revenue (NBR), Banks, Bima, Leasing Companies and at least a total of 25 organisations.
It may be mentioned here that , Ila Haque, wife of former Health Minister, AFM Ruhal Haque, Hasina Sultana, wife of State Minister for Public Works, Abdul Mannan Khan, Tahura Haque, wife of present parliament member Enamul Haque of Rajshahi and Shahina Akhter Shahi, wife of parliament member Abdur Rahman (Bodi) of Cox’s Bazar are under ACC scrutiny for allegedly scamming property.
The corruption case against Tahura Haque, wife of former MP Enamul Haque [Rajshahi -4], is under process for accumulating illegal wealth amounts 49 lakh, which has no link to her husband’s legal income. Deputy Director, Jatan Kumar Roy of ACC is investigating the case. Ila Haque , wife of former Health Minister and present parliament member Dr. AFM Ruhal Haque, has acquired a property equivalent to Tk 1.5 crore apart from her husband’s legal income. Ila Haque and her son Ziaul Haque have houses, flats, lands and plots in Dhaka and Shatkhira district.
Hasina Sultana, wife of Mannan Khan, allegedly amassed property and hided information about her wealth. Although Hasina Sultana was a housewife, she was found involve with fish selling business.
ACC has also found information regarding amassing of huge illegal property by Shahina Akhter Shahi, wife of parliament member of Cox’s Bazar, Abdur Rahman Bodi.
