The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to initiate an inquiry against JKG Health Care Chairman Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury over her alleged involvement in a recent Covid-19 testing scam.
Dr Sabrina, who is still in public service as a physician at the Department of Surgery of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, has been accused of embezzling Tk8 crore – with the help of her husband Ariful Chowdhury – by forging and providing 15,460 fake medical reports.
The commission has decided to probe claims of embezzlement and misappropriation of assets other than known income.
Relevant subdivisions of the ACC have already collected many complaints against Dr Sabrina from various sources, including the media.
The commission decided to launch the probe after all allegations brought against her were presented before its complaint cell.
The Special Investigation Division of the commission will carry out the inquiry.
